Shere Hill Climb

Shere Hill Climb

The Shere Hill Climb is a family friendly day out in the heart of the Surrey Hills with something for every car enthusiast. In a triumph of the eclectic our 2017 event included everything from a 1907 Berliet, to a McLaren 12c, a Dellow Mk1 and a De Tomaso Pantera. In between these there were Astons (from DB Mk 3 to V8), a Bentley 4 ½ litre, an XK120, Angela Hume’s famous and much raced AC Ace, a Lancia Aurelia and a Ferrari 330GTC – alongside a Fiat UNO Turbo, Ford Cortina Estate, Alfa Romeo GTAm, Volvo Amazon and Ford Mustang.

The event which takes place on Sunday 2ndSeptember on part of the Olympic Cycle route in the beautiful Surrey Hills is becoming one of the most popular as well as eclectic Hill Climbs in the UK. And it is unique in as much as all profits are distributed to local charities – in the first 5 years it has raised over £70,000 for good causes.

Entries for the Hill Climb itself are now closed, but tickets to get up close and watch the action are now available from www.sherehillclimb.co.uk/tickets/ and there is still the opportunity to get involved in with The Farnborough Motor Club Grass Autotest. It’s your chance to have a go at motorsport in your own car.

Alongside the 170 fabulous cars tackling the Hill there are plenty of other attractions. This year these include a Harley Davidson display, music tent, children’s attractions, trade stands and food and drinks stands including a Silent Pool gin bar.

We are also accepting applications from local car clubs to reserve an area completely free of charge – all you need to do is encourage your members to buy tickets and let us know how many are coming. We also have 2 places for car clubs who would like to do a parade run up the hill in the lunch break – if you have something particular you would like to show or an anniversary to celebrate please let us know.

Please do feel free to share details with your members and if there is a specific regional contact in Surrey please do let me know. We hope to see you there.
